In the context of its software migration, the Bel Group chose ENI's MEDIAplus eLearning system to train its users to use the new versions of Microsoft Office software. Faced with a project concerning over 6000 users worldwide, the Bel Group came up with an innovative solution: the implementation of 4 roaming resource centres.
The Bel Group (a staff of 9000, leading brands such as "The laughing cow", "Mini Babybel", "Kiri", "Apericube", "Leerdammer"... distributed in over 120 countries) made use of e-training to support its new, world-wide office software project. Under the impetus of the group's human resources management and its IT strategy management, BEL set up 4 mobile facilities with laptop computers equipped with ENI's MEDIAplus eLearning system of training and self-assessment in office software. These roaming resource centres visited each of the Bel Group's production sites and each of its subsidiaries (France, UK, Germany, Sweden, Netherlands, Portugal...) as part of the migration process, to train users in the new software. The aim was to deploy the new system rapidly and cost-effectively, while ensuring that the users remained operational. For each site and subsidiary, ENI trained Bel's own tutors so that they could assist users learning Microsoft Office software.
The Bel Group, in partnership with ENI, made communication about the e-learning project a priority: each user received a document presenting Bel's new e-learning tools and a guide explaining how best to use them.
At the end of the migration phase, the Bel group decided to retain the MEDIAplus eLearning system for the office software training courses which figure in their employee development programmes.
