Word has several preset gradients.
Select the text.
On the Home tab, open the list on the Font Color button and click Gradient.
Click one of the preset gradients.
The Light Variations and Dark Variations can only be seen when a colour is applied to the selected text. If this is not the case, you will only see the Variations box.
If none of the gradients proposed by Word is suitable, you can create your own gradient.
Select the relevant text.
In the Home tab, open the list on the Font Color tool , click Gradient, then choose More Gradients.
In the Text Fill area, select Gradient fill.
G options appear in the Format Text Effects pane.
In the Preset gradients list, select the preset gradient you want to use to create the gradient.
Select the type of gradient from the Type list: Linear, Radial, Rectangular, Path.
Select the direction of the gradient from the Direction list.
This option is not available for the Path option.
If you chose a gradient with a Linear type, you can change its rotation angle in the Angle box.
