Customising an account

Every account has its own display settings (photo, background, etc.).

Sign in and activate the connected account in question.

Click the current account name, which can be found to the top right of the Word screen, and choose the Account settings option to display the Account window.

Alternatively, you can click the File tab and then the Account option.

Changing personal information

Click the About me link.

If necessary, enter your e-mail address and the password linked to it, then click Sign in.

The default Web browser opens a new window at a secure Microsoft Web page.

To change the name associated with the account, click the Edit link to the right of the name. Enter the new name and click Save.

To change the picture associated with the account, click the Change picture link and the Browse button, select the picture file, then click Open. Move the picture box if necessary, then click Save.

Then close your browser window.

Changing the Office background and theme

Open the Office Background list, then point (without clicking) to one of the available models to see immediately what the effect will be on the Word application title bar.

Here, the Circles and Stripes model has been used to customise this user’s title bar.

Click on the model you want.

You can change the colour of the Word interface, open the Office Theme list and click on either Colorful, Dark Gray, Black or White.

To view the result, close the File tab by clicking the arrow button images/ic012R.png at the top of the options pane.
