Cancel a style

This action applies to character and paragraph styles. It allows you to review the text’s appearance before applying a style.

To cancel the application of a character style, select the relevant characters.

To cancel the application of a paragraph style, click in the relevant paragraph.

Display the Styles pane (Home tab - Styles group - images/13i10.png button) then click the Style Inspectorimages/13i59.png button in the lower part of the window.

The Style Inspector task pane appears.

In the first box under Paragraph formatting, you can see the name of the paragraph style that is applied to the active paragraph. If more formatting has been applied to the entire paragraph (such as alignment, indents, bold, italics, etc.), the corresponding description appears in the grey box. In this example, a left indent of 1 cm has been applied to the active paragraph, in addition to the Heading 2 style attributes

In the first box under Text level formatting, you can see the name of the character style that is applied to the selected characters. If more character formatting has been applied to the selected text, the corresponding description appears in the grey box. If not, the word <none> is displayed in the grey box.

To cancel the application of a paragraph style, click the images/13i65.png button to the right of the Paragraph formatting area.

To cancel the application of a character style, click the images/13i65.png button to the right of the Text level formatting area.
