Applying a preset reflection

Word has several preset reflections.

Select the relevant characters.

In the Home tab, click the Text Effects and Typography tool images/13iac16.png, then point to Reflection.

Applying a custom reflection effect

If none of the preset reflections proposed by Word are suitable, you can create your own reflection.

Select the relevant characters.

In the Home tab, click the Text Effects and Typography tool images/13iac16.png, point to Reflection, then click Reflection Options.

You can also click the Text Effects tool in the Font dialogue box (Home tab - Font group - images/13i10.png), click the images/13i50.png icon then the Reflection option. The Format Text Effects pane appears to the right of the window. You can see the Reflection options.

If you want to create a custom reflection from a preset reflection, select it in the Presets list.

The options that follow display the settings relating to the preset reflection that you have selected. You will now change those options.

To change the level of reflection, drag the cursor next to Transparency or define the value you want.

To change the reflection size, drag the Size cursor; 100% corresponds to the size of the selected characters.

To change the blur of the reflection in relation to the characters, drag the cursor or define the value in the Blur field. The higher the value, the further the reflection is from the characters.
