Applying an effect to an object

Select the object.

In the Format tab, go to Shape Styles and click Shape Effects.

Point to the option corresponding to the type of effect you want.

When you point to an option, you can see how it affects your object.

If you are unsure about the effect to apply, point in turn to the effects so that you can see the results preview, once you have made your choice, click the effect to apply.

If none of the predefined effects suits you, you can create your own custom effect: in the Shape Effects button, point to the effect type option to be customised then click the "effect name" Options option (for example, Shadow Options).

Most of these effects can be applied to standard text; for more information refer to the corresponding title in the Characters chapter.

Several effects can be applied to one object.
